THIS YEAR'S TRIP TO THE LANSING RADIO EXTRAVAGANZA NETTED SOME REAL FINDS!
I set up my display to sell some sets and make some room this year ...

I took about eighty sets with me to display.

Funny thing was I ended up buying just as many sets as I sold! I think this is where the "addiction" part of this hobby comes into play.

My couch runneth over...
All radios that just followed me home, honest! Now the question is..."Where am I gonna put them all!?"
Rarely seen RCA 4X552 Creighton top dial in mint shape!
I got bit by the red radio bug a long time ago and this one is a beauty!
RCA Creighton top dial collection.
So far I've found these in ivory, maroon, and red as well as black. UPDATE: As of 8-05 I've found all the know colors of this outstanding design. They were made in red, maroon, hunter green, black, ivory, and brown. The brown version didn't have the anodized gold aluminum trim grill insert.
A closer look at the maroon version
When I first saw the ad for this set on eBay I wondered if it was a different shade of red than the other one, Happily it was! This shot shows the difference in the two red sets, one is tomato red and the other is maroon.
Motorola 53H in black bakelite.
I missed four of these over a two week period and finally got one for myself! This is one unique chassis design with a speaker that appears to have no magnet, until you remove it form the cabinet and find out it is in FRONT of the speaker cone. A strange setup to say the least but it works.
Three days later the Motorola is complete!
OLYMPIC 552 TURQUOISE
In almost mint shape and a super color combination!  I love turquoise sets as it is my favorite fifties color.
ADMIRAL 5G35N RARE RED COLOR
This rare red Plaskon Admiral has a printed circuit chassis mounted in a metal subframe.
MOTOROLA DRAGSTER...IN RED OF COURSE!
This sweet little red dragster seems to glow even in the dark. Hard to find in this color as the white ones are more common.
PHILCO 50T1430 BAKELITE BLACK AND WHITE TELEVISION
This set is my newest retro addtion and was found sitting next to a dumpster! I installed a 13" color set inside the cabinet while I am in the process of restoring the original chassis which was intact and very clean. It should need a full recap and hopefully work again but until then the 13" set will let me display it and enjoy it. The brown bakelite cabinet miraculously is in near mint shape and shined up like a new penny!

CORONADO "MODERNE" UNUSUAL DESIGN
I picked up this little retro gem at the 2006 MARC Extravaganza and it was nearly mint so I grabbed it. I have never seen this set before and it appears to be made by Belmont with the model number 45RA33. It may be a Canadian set possibly a 1954 model and if anyone has any info on this set please contact me via e-mail.
NEW ADDITION! MAROON RCA 1X56
Found in sad shape at a local antique mall this RCA is now singing like new again! Super cool dial design with a lighted tuning knob.

No matter how many sets you have you always seem to find "just one more"...in my case it's just "several' more!
